What is the Fair Chance Fund?
The Fair Chance Fund is our way of creating a coalition between business and education that finally puts human development at the heart of education.
Launched in 2020 with the help of the NatWest Group, the Fund gives pupils and teachers, from schools in some of the most deprived areas in Britain, fully-funded places on The Ivy House Award and our Life Leader Programme. Programmes that are offered to teachers and pupils in some of the leading schools in the country.
The first 15 schools to benefit from the Fund began the Ivy House Award in January 2021 – you can find out more about them here.

We are looking for partners to help us bring this game-changing learning to young people, from less-advantaged backgrounds – at a time when it is has never been more needed and can make a significant difference, now and in the future.
Whatever your budget, we’ll work with you to bring a programme that creates lasting change for young people and their teachers. Whether you are able to support 1 school or 30, this is about doing what you can to equip young people no matter what their background, a fair chance. Equipping them with the skills they need to take control of their lives, build confidence and positive futures.
- If you have a group of schools you already support, you can fund the pupil and teacher places for that group.
- If you would like to find a group of schools to work with, based on a certain profile, we can support you to find and build those relationships
- If you would like us to distribute the places on your behalf, we will give them to schools with the greatest need.
If you’re as excited as we are about the opportunity this represents, please let us know!

Fair Chance Fund
The Ivy House Award develops game-changing life and leadership skills in students, bringing critical personal and professional development to young people – at a time when it can make the biggest difference. The programme is facilitated by passionate teachers, either face-to-face or virtually.
We’re on a mission to make it available to any student who wants it – irrespective of their background, the school they go to or how much their parents earn.
In addition to this we offer places on our award-winning Life Leader programme to teachers who are determined to give their pupils the kind of development they deserve.
There are 2 ways you can approach the Fair Chance Fund:
- Register your school’s interest in the Fund so that we can get in touch when a new tranche of funding becomes available.
- You can approach companies you have connections with for support. We’ve put together a pack that you can use to help you pitch the Fair Chance Fund – feel free to download it below. A local company could support you for as little as £5,000.
If you’d love for your students to access fully-funded places on The Ivy House Award, let us know.

Help us create change
We can’t do it alone
The way we’re developing young people is not working. It’s time for a different path.
A path that proactively enables social mobility, embraces diversity and means that your background is no longer the key determinant of your success. A path that creates a collaborative, resilient, purpose-led generation: young people who create lives they love and make meaningful contributions to our communities, organisations and society. It’s time to put human development at the heart of education.
This change requires socially driven, courageous organisations to play their part.
The question is, are you ready to play yours?
